NEQJCC PRESENTS POLICE COMMISSIONER BROWN, 
SUN. OCT. 20, 10am

The 1991 Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council [NEQJCC]  Fall Lecture Series, �Crime & Punishment�, will be kicked off by New York City Police Commissioner Lee Brown, announced Corey B. Bearak and Executive Director Anne Lukin. Commissioner Brown will discuss the topic, �Crime in New York City� on Sunday, October 20, 1991, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Samuel Field YM&YWHA, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck. The Y is co-sponsoring the series. Tickets must be obtained prior to the lecture at the Y in order to guarantee admittance on the day of the program.

�Commissioner Brown will address the ever-growing problem of crime in our neighborhoods, the apprehension of criminals and crime prevention,� stated NEQJCC President Bearak. �Several new programs, which have been instituted to combat crime, such as community policing, will also be discussed.� NEQJCC Past President Dr. Arnold Honig chaired the committee which developed and arranged this two-part forum on crime.

The second lecture, Sunday, November 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Y, will feature New York's Chief Judge Sol Wachtler, who will discuss �The Criminal Justice System.�
