NEQJCC PRESENTS NY's CHIEF JUDGE SOL WACHTLER, SUN. NOV. 17, 10am

New York's Chief Judge, Sol Wachtler, will discuss �The Criminal Justice System� at a forum sponsored by the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council [NEQJCC], announced Corey B. Bearak and Executive Director Anne Lukin. Judge Wachtler 's addressthe topic, the concluding lecture of the NEQJCC's two-part 1991 Fall Lecture Series, �Crime & Punishment�, will take place at the Samuel Field YM&YWHA, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck on Sunday November 17, 1991, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

�Judge Wachtler will focus his remarks on the ability of the criminal justice system to deal effectively and fairly with those who have been charged with criminal conduct,' stated Mr. Bearak. After his remarks, Judge Wachtler will field questions directly from the audience.

NEQJCC Past President Dr. Arnold Honig chaired the committee which developed and arranged the Council's 1991 forum on crime, which New York City Police Commissioner Commissioner Brown kicked off with a discussion on �Crime in New York City� on October 20. �In addition to serving as Chief Judge of the New York's highest court, the Court of Appeals, Judge Wachtler heads the state's court system,� noted Dr. Honig.
