The 1991 Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council (NEQJCC) Legislative Breakfast will feature Member of Congress Charles E. Schumer, announced President Dr. Arnold Honig and Executive Director Anne Lupkin. NEQJCC Legislative Chair Corey B. Bearak reports the breakfast takes place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday April 21, at the Samuel Field Y, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck.. "Congressman Schumer will discuss the topic: 'After the Persian Gulf War: What's Next for the Middle East'," said Mr. Bearak who arranged the program. "At the breakfast, the Council will present the Seymour Perlmutter Community Service Award to the Samuel Field Y," added NEQJCC President Honig. The Y's Executive Director, Bernard Kimberg, will accept the award on behalf of the Y. "The Samuel Field Y continues to contribute to the well-being of northeast Queens residents from the very young to the most senior and everyone in between," stated NEQJCC Director Lupkin. "Congressman Schumer will also address questions on domestic issues, including the failed savings and loan associations crisis and efforts by the Federal Resolution Trust Corporation to evict tenants and call in homeowner mortgages," noted NEQJCC Legislative Chair Bearak. "The Congressman has been credited with predicting this crisis.
