JEWISH COUNCILS CONDEMN BOMBINGS IN JERUSALEM & TEL AVIV Northeast Queens Jewish leaders condemned recent bombings this past Sunday and this morning in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. "All New Yorkers should find these act offensive and outrageous," said Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council President Corey Bearak and Executive Director Sharon Nadel. In a statement on behalf of the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council (NEQJCC), Mr. Bearak and Ms. Nadel added: "We mourn the deaths; we grieve; and we pray for those injured. On behalf of our community, we extend our condolences to the victims' families and loved ones. The criminal acts perpetrated must not go unpunished. These acts of terror and violence represent the work of vicious criminals. All responsible nations and peoples must support the efforts to bring the perpetrators of these and similar crimes to justice". Mr. Bearak and Mrs. Nadel continued: "These crimes, so close to the elections in the State of Israel, appear calculated to disrupt the continuing efforts toward a just and lasting peace." The Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council represents over thirty synagogues, Jewish organizations and fraternal groups in Bayside, Bay Terrace, Bellerose, Douglaston, Floral Park, Hollis Hills, Little Neck, New Hyde Park and Queens Village. -30-
