Photos of over 300 Northeast Marchers at the Salute to Israel Parade
Sunday June 5, 2006
Northeast Queens Vice Presidents Corinne Steel and Ethel Levine led a
group of 300 marchers from 9 northeast Queens schuls at the Salute to
Israel Parade. A highlight included the participation of Jesse
Perlstein, 101 years young, from Marathon Jewish Center and a long-time
volunteer at the Samuel Field Y, who led our delegation. Janna
Babad, the 11 year-old who accompanied Jesse, in the car, helped
symbolize the time line of 90 years between them as reflected in the
special banners our congregations carried (in addition to synagogue
banners). Joseph Levine provides the photographs that follow.
