NORTHEAST QUEENS JEWISH COMMUNITY
CELEBRATES CHANUKAH

The Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council sponsored four events during Chanukah, including its annual lighting of the borough's largest Menorah with the Chabad of Eastern Queens (Dec. 17), a ceremony at Queens Borough Hall (Dec. 19), a party at the Samuel Field Y (Dec. 17) and a lighting and party with the Chabad of Little Neck (Dec. 20).  As Pictures become available, find them in this section.

The December 17 Menorah Lighting and celebration features City Councilman David Weprin, State Senator Frank Padavan, State Assemblyman Mark Weprin and City Councilman James Gennaro.  The December 17 party at the Samuel Field Y attracted City Councilman Tony Avella.  Senator Padavan also attended the December 20 Little Neck program at Marathon Jewish Community Council.

Queens Borough President Helen Marshall hosted the December 19 program which also honored six Jewish organizations including the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council.  Also honored were Chabad of Forest Hills, the Flushing Jewish Community Council, the Jackson Heights-Elmhurst Kehillah, the Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula, and the Queens Jewish Community Council.  NEQJCC member Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation supplies the Latkes on behalf of NEQJCC.
