Jewish community organizations and agencies join with local elected officials to kick off its Harmony initiative Holiday Toy Drive," Sunday, November 4, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Samuel Y, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, announced Chairman Corey Bearak and President Jeff Gurdus of the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council (NEQJCC), which organized the program. 

The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, Samuel Field Y, Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, Member of Congress Anthony Weiner, City Councilmen David Weprin, James Gennaro & Anthony Avella, State Senators Frank Padavan and Toby Stavisky, and Assembly Members Mark Weprin, Ann-Margaret Carrozza, Barbara Clark and Rory Lancman also sponsor the month long drive which runs through November 30. 

�We encourage donations of unwrapped, new (original containers) toys,� stated Gail Eisenberg, Executive Director of the NEQJCC, the largest regional Jewish community council in the Greater New York area.
