The Program - �Real Property Tax Reform�
Held 9:30 a.m. at Samuel Field Y,
58-20 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY, the program followed a light breakfast sponsored by Parker Jewish Institute for Health
Care & Rehabilitation. The
Speakers: State Senator Frank Padavan who authored S.7000A; State Assembly
Member Mark Weprin (�prospects for legislative reform�); City Council Finance
Chair David Weprin ("assessment reform"); City Council Environmental Protection Chair
James Gennaro ("water taxes"); and President David Moog of the City Assessors and Appraisers Local 1757, District Council 37 AFSCME,
("fairness in City Assessment Policies"). Corey Bearak,
President of the Queens Civic Congress and NEQJCC's chair, served as
moderator. The program was organized by Queens Civic Congress
and Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council and also sponsored
by Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, Jewish
Community Relations Council of New York, UJA-Federation of New York, Samuel Field Y, Queens Hadassah and Parker Jewish Institute for Health
