Jewish community organizations and agencies join with local elected officials to kick off its Harmony initiative Holiday Toy Drive," Sunday, October 18, 2008, at 12:00 noon at the Samuel Field Y, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck, announced Chairman Corey Bearak and President Jack Friedman of the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council (NEQJCC), which organized the program. Samuel Field Y, UJA-Federation of New York, Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, Members of Congress Gary Ackerman, Gregory Meeks and Anthony Weiner, Council Members David Weprin, Jim Gennaro, Leroy Comrie, John Liu, and Tony Avella, State Senators Frank Padavan and Toby Stavisky, and Assembly Members Ann Carrozza, Barbara Clark, Rory Lancman, and Mark Weprin also sponsor the month long drive which runs through November 27. �We encourage donations of unwrapped, new (original containers) toys,� stated Gail Eisenberg, Executive Director of the NEQJCC, the largest regional Jewish community council in the Greater New York area.
