ELECTEDS HELP NEQJCC KICK OFF WINTER COAT DRIVE Jewish community organizations and agencies joined with local elected officials, including Senators Frank Padavan and Toby Stavisky, Assembly Member/ Council Member-elect Mark Weprin, Council Members David Weprin and Tony Avella, and Councilman-elect Dan Halloran, to kick off the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council's 4th Annual �Harmony initiative Winter Coat Drive,� Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the Samuel Field Y, 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, announced Chairman Corey Bearak and President Jack Friedman of the Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council (NEQJCC), which organized the program. Samuel Field Y, Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, UJA- Federation of New York, Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, NAACP, HSBC, Members of Congress Gary Ackerman, Anthony Weiner and Gregory Meeks, State Senators Frank Padavan and Toby Stavisky, Assembly Members Barbara Clark, Mark Weprin, Ann Margret Carrozza and Rory Lancman, Council Members David Weprin, James Gennaro, Tony Avella, Leroy Comrie and John Liu and Council Members-elect Dan Halloran and Peter Koo also sponsor the month long drive which runs through January 8, 2010. �NEQJCC encourages donations of new and lightly used winder coats at collection points throughout northeast Queens, including the Y,� stated Gail Eisenberg, Executive Director of the NEQJCC, the largest regional Jewish community council in the Greater New York area.
