N.E.Q. JEWISH COMMUNITY COUNCIL HONORS HADASSAH CURRICULUM WATCH, ARCHIE SPIGNER, SUSIE TANENBAUM; INSTALLS OFFICERS 

           The Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council [NEQJCC] presents three Awards for Outstanding Service, including one to former NYC Council Deputy Majority Leader Archie Spigner, at its Annual Installation and Awards Reception, 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 25 at Bellerose Jewish Center, 254-04 Union Turnpike (one block east of Little Neck Parkway) in Floral Park, announced NEQJCC President Jack Friedman. The program also features the installation of NEQJCC's officers, including Mr. Friedman to a second term as President, reported Corey Bearak, chair of the NEQJCC's Executive Committee. The other honorees are Hadassah's Curriculum Watch and Jewish activist Susie Tanenbaum, who serves as a special Assistant to the Queens Borough President. Hadassah's Past National Vice President Dr. Sandra Alfonsi will present the Rivka Fox Youth Awards to Dave Slotnick and Samantha Lessa. NEQJCC Executive Director Gail Eisenberg thanked The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation for it generous support for the reception.

In addition to Bearak [Temple Sholom], re-elected to a twelfth term, and Friedman [Bellerose Jewish Center], Council officers include First Vice President Helene Zaro [Bell Park Jewish Center], Second Vice President Ethel Levine [Hillcrest Jewish Center], Third Vice President Corinne Steel [Marathon Jewish Community Center], Treasurer Dennis Novick [Hollis Hills Jewish Center], Secretary Marilynne Vogel [Congregation Ohr Moshe and Utopia Jewish Center] and Trustees Dr. Steven Goodman [Samuel Field Y], Jeffrey Gurdus [Bellerose Jewish Center], Ed Harap [Bell Park Jewish Center] and Ron Shafran [Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation].
